Academic progress rules
and procedures have been established by the University to help
ensure that students make satisfactory progress in their studies
and so that they can access appropriate support early on, if
it is required.
Academic Standing
is an indication of your current progress toward completion
of your Program. At the end of each Semester an Academic Standing
is assigned to each student. This is calculated according to
the proportion of the enrolled load passed (undergraduate students),
or cumulative number of failures (postgraduate students). Research
and Non-Award students are not included in the Academic Standing
scheme.
If you are having
difficulty understanding the Academic Progress rules, or wish to
discuss your situation further, you can attend a Phoenix Rising
workshop. Register
here.
Support For Student Progress
At

problems meeting deadlines, completing assignments, or even being
able to study at all. There can be very good reasons for this
which are sometimes within and sometimes beyond the control of
the student.
In the latter
case the University, the Faculty and the School can all provide
ways to help. The University has a 'Special Consideration' policy,
and each of the Schools has its own policy for granting extensions
and alternative forms of assessment. A number of student services
also provide assistance:
